Know me even more…

I am the youngest in the family. My mother is a bookkeeper handling many companies. My eldest brother is already a married civil engineer who has one 9-month-old daughter. My second brother is also a civil engineer. My only sister graduated in management accounting. The three of them are currently working. My aunt also stays with us who is planning to be a caregiver. My father died last June 2004. Since then, my mother is the one sending me to school. We are open to one another. We share experiences and problems together. Even though we do not have much wealth, we still live in a happy life.
If I were to rate my family in a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 as the highest, I would give a 4. It is because we are so close to each other that any misunderstandings can be solved right away. The only family problem now has to do with financial crisis…
My family also has strong points. One strong point is love and respect. We love and respect each other to attain peace and order at home. Openness and solidarity are of great help in solving any problem too. We open up our problems and help each other in solving them. Being industrious and persistent in aiming for excellence is also a great factor to be successful. Trust is also a great factor in having fewer suspicions that might lead to misunderstandings. Most importantly, we are also God-fearing which may be one factor why we do not do wrong deeds.
My family also has weak points. One example is having the attitude that one’s desires should be followed. Sometimes, we fight over the television shows. Another is the attitude of disobedience and being dependent to others. Sometimes, when one is tasked to do something, he will pass the job to other people. We often depend on other people to do the job for us. Another weak point is the attitude of being extravagant. We tend to spend money for things of less use. Sometimes, we eat even though we are still full which may be the cause of fewer saving.
The things that need improvement in our family are our weak points. We should learn to be mapagkumbaba to avoid quarrels. We should follow what is asked for us and do not depend on others to do the job for us. We should also learn to save money for future use. Aside from our weak points, my eldest brother’s attitude also needs improvement. Our parents sent him to school but he won’t follow my mother. Instead, he follows whatever his wife wants. God placed our brain above our heart to rule over our emotions. He keeps on demanding money even though he already has a job. He just proved to himself that he is still not capable of raising his own family.
Nevertheless, I am still blessed of having my family. They are the best thing that happened to me.
